What should a mileage log contain?

  • The date of your trip.
  • Your starting point and destination.
  • The purpose of your trip (Business, Medical, Charity).
  • Your starting and ending odometer readings.
  • Total miles driven.

How to use the templates

Record trips close to when they happen, add a clear business purpose, and keep the exported file with receipts or other supporting records. Review the official IRS guidance for the documentation and eligibility rules that apply to your situation.
